Michael Vadiveloo Sports Physiotherapist
Michael graduated as a physiotherapist in 1986.He established the City Baths Spinal and Sports medicine Clinic in 1991 to complement the successful Cheltenham Spinal and Sports Injury Clinic which was established in 1987.
He has a degree in Human Movement Studies as well as Physiotherapy which he finds is an invaluable knowledge resource in treating both spinal and sports injuries.
His 14 year experience as a physiotherapist at St.Kilda Football Club and his status as a Sports Physiotherapist ensures that he has the experience and knowledge to provide a physiotherapy based assessment and treatment of the highest level.
A 10 year association with General Motors Holden , Hella Manufacturing and other associated industries has provided an understanding and knowledge of both white and blue collar working requirements .This has ensured that he has the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with injuries in the workplace.
He has lectured to both peers and industry on injuries in sport and ergonomic issues in the workplace.
Michael continues to provide a quality service to clients based in the city and surrounding suburbs and in conjunction with the rest of the team at City Baths Spinal and Sportsmedicine Clinic looks forward to providing you with the help you need to accelerate your recovery and return to your pre injury status.
Jenni Kruger
Jenni completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2001 and has since worked in both the public and private health sectors. Her experience lies predominantly in the musculoskeletal area, including spinal and maternal health conditions.
Jenni is trained in the McKenzie method for Lumbar spine, and is also a certified Clinical Pilates Physiotherapist. She finds this knowledge and experience invaluable in assessing and managing many conditions presenting to physiotherapy, especially spinal problems resulting from pregnancy and motherhood.
Her experience as a physiotherapist with football clubs in the Amateur and Diamond Valley Leagues ensures she can accurately diagnose, manage and facilitate your return to your sport as soon as possible.
She also co-coordinates the hydrotherapy program at City Baths.
Richard Watson
Richard Watson is an APA physiotherapist who has been working at City Baths for the past two and a half years.
He has seven years experience as a Physiotherapist with outpatients largely in the sporting, spinal and ergonomic areas. Previously he spent three years working in London, and two years in regional Victoria (Bendigo and Geelong).
He is trained in the McKenzie approach for Lumbar, Cervical and Thoracic spinal conditions.
He is involved in ongoing professional development in both sporting and spinal fields.
He is involved with local football clubs (currently UHS-VU FC and Ringwood FC), and also worked at the Sydney 2000 Olympics with athletes at the village.
Richard enjoys travel and is also a keen triathlete, training with the Yarra Triathlon Squad.
Kyung Hee Kim Manipulative Physiotherapist
Kyung-Hee Kim is a Manipulative Physiotherapist who is fluent in Korean and has over 14 years experience with acute and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries.
She is proficient in the utilisation of Chinese acupuncture and has a unique ability to combine this with her physiotherapy techniques in treatment.
She is also a Certified Clinical Pilates Physiotherapist.
Vanessa Smith
Vanessa is a physiotherapist and clinical pilates instructor who has recently returned to Melbourne after working on the Sunshine Coast for two years.
She has worked at a variety of private practices over the past five years, treating a wide range of patients and injuries, including sports injuries. She has also spent three years with the Western Bulldogs Football Club and amateur and eastern league football teams.
As an Elite marathon runner Vanessa has a strong interest in running injuries and understands the importance of looking after the body and injury prevention and management.
Vanessa is teaching Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne this year. She is also a qualified nutritionist whose primary objective is to improve the health and wellbeing of her clients through optimal nutrition.
Alicia Tang
Alicia completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2005 and has worked in both the public and private sector as well as undertaking time in rural Victoria. She is also a qualified Hydrotherapy and Clinical Pilates instructor.
She is involved with Western Bulldogs VFL - Williamstown Football club and has previously worked with St Kilda and Casey Football clubs as well as having a long history with the Eastern Football League - including Scoresby Division 1. She is also working with Victorian Institute of Sport Athletics athletes and lectures/teaches for Sports Medicine Australia.
She has travelled with professional athletes for both interstate and international competition and was involved with the Commonwealth Games 2006 and so has a strong understanding of the importance of rehabilitation and education for prevention as well as combining return to sport and work.
Michael Davey
Michael completed his physiotherapy degree from Melbourne University in 2003. Upon graduation, he worked extensively throughout the public health system in Melbourne, expanding his knowledge in sports and spinal injuries.
Michael was physiotherapist at Hampton Rovers Amateur Football Club for the 2005 season, where he developed a special interest in knee and groin injuries, as he had succumbed to both throughout his own footbal career.
His physiotherapy career also included 2 years working in England, and on his return to Australia in 2007, commenced work at City Baths Sports and Spinal.
Michael is also a qualified Clinical Pilates Instructor ensuring optimal long-term recovery from chronic spinal conditions and in 2008 is physiotherapist with Melbourne University Rugby Team.
Anthony Kavanagh
Anthony completed his bachelor of Physiotherapy at Melbourne University earning awards in his final year for the best results and graduating with Honors in 2003.
After graduation he worked in Orthopedic physiotherapy in both a Private practive and inpatient role. He developed an interest in sporting injuries but also worked in emergency so has a good understanding of managing injuries and rehabilitation at all stages.
He has worked in the UK hospital sector, focusing on Musculoskeletal, and gained significant experience in spinal and sports conditions as well as operative care and chronic pain.
